- Attend and successfully complete Real Estate Principles & Practices course. (Must meet new 60-hour standards.) Applicants who completed a 30-hour Principles & Practices course after October 1, 1994 may complete an additional 30-hour Principles & Practices course rather than completing a 60-hour course.

Attend and successfully complete Real Estate Appraisal I (Residential Appraisal).

Attend and successfully complete an additional approved course in a related subject in real estate.

Applicants must have been licensed as salesperson for at least two years.

Send a completed broker application to the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Occupational and Professional Licensing Division. Include the original grade reports you receive from your approved courses. Other documentation and a fee are detailed on the application form.

If your application is acceptable, you will be sent an “Exam Eligibility” postcard permitting you to register for the required State licensing test.
