The Radiologic Technology Program at Naugatuck Valley Community College has educated radiographers for over thirty years.  The program's students have consistently performed higher than the national average score on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registry exam.

A radiographer is an Allied Health Professional that is qualified to use x-rays to produce diagnostic images of the human body. They perform a wide variety of diagnostic x-ray procedures such as chest, skeletal survey, abdomen, CT scan. They administer contrast media to visualize the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, and vascular system.  They assist the radiologist during specialized procedures such as myelography, angiography, and other interventional exams.  In addition to x-rays, radiologic technologists have become involved in the use of radiowaves as in MRI to visualize the body.  Some of our graduates continue their studies in Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT Scanning, and MRI.
