in another course, on the job or from another source and enhance
your knowledge and skills.
Our class size is small, 10 to 14 students, allowing our instructors
to give students the attention they need. Our friendly hands-on
approach is a productive way to help students move on to the next
level.

that are needed. To get the most out of your learning experience,

those who have basic Word skills and are ready to learn more. Cover
topics include:
- Formatting with styles
- Creating and modifying charts
- Creating and using forms

Projects in Business: Advanced Word
In this workshop, you'll focus on using the functions and features of Word in specific business projects. A basic review of intermediate and advanced level Word functions is included; however, the focus is on self-discovery and function integration. Some knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Access is useful, but not required.
- Create a multi-page report with information drawn from various sources.
- Create a complete marketing kit to launch a new product or service
- Create a product catalog, using mail merge, queries, and importing data from other sources.
- Create multiple documents using collaborative tools, document versions, and templates and simple macros.
- Create a workbook from a PowerPoint presentation and use tables, graphics, and advanced paragraph formatting.

Preparing Content for Presentations
As a class we will look at role of business presentations for anyone who addresses customers, employees or students on a regular basis. Technology is changing the way we create and present information to groups, but the proper use of verbal and nonverbal communication strategies will prevail. We will discuss the advantages of written vs. oral presentations, and how to plan a presentation effectively using visual aids. We will also address the critical role of audience analysis in terms of demographics and level of knowledge of our particular topics. |
