               Barbara Williams is Director of Learner Services.  She received her undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle.  She was a member of the UICC Women’s Track and Field team.  Miss Williams accepted teaching position in Bloomfield and was also the head coach for Bloomfield trace and field team during her first year there.  She currently enjoys bicycling, tennis, archery and skiing.  Her favorite sport for viewing is Professional Football and her favorite team is the New York Jets (Vinnie Testaverde!).

 

                Lucy Hurston is Director of Athletics and Recreation Sports and Instructor of Criminal Justice/Sociology.  Lucy earned her AS in General Studies from Manchester Community Technical College (1993), her BA in Sociology (with a minor in African-American Studies, Women's Studies and Anthropology) from Central Connecticut State University (1995) and her MA in Sociology from Ohio State University (1997).  She successfully ran the Bloomfield Little League Program for eleven years and has moved on to the larger task of re-organizing the Athletic and Sport program for NVCC.

 

                  Robert Turner is the Head Coach for Women’s Basketball.  He played four years of high school basketball: 1 year JV and 3 years Varsity.  He is a graduate of Hampton University and is presently a Remedial Assistant Specialist at Carmen Arace Middle School in Bloomfield.  He has formulated, administrated and participated in various basketball camps and clinics.

 

                  Nate Gilmore is the Head Coach for Men's Basketball after performing as assistant coach for many years.  He has a BS in Marketing from South Carolina State University.  He played on the varsity basketball team and was co-captain of the team during his senior year.  He made the All Rookies Team and All Conference Team.  He loves coaching, playing and being around the game of basketball.  He wants all of his players to complete their Associate Degrees and transfer on to a four-year institution.

 

                  Bill Grabowski is the Head Coach for Women’s Baseball. He brings extensive playing and coaching experience to NVCC. He has played baseball at Naugatuck High School (64 game win streak), University of New Haven for 2 1\2 years and internationally at Haarlem, Netherlands for 3 years and Linz, Austria for 1 year. Additionally he has played for the Twi-Met League for 10 years and miscellaneous Softball Leagues for over 20 years. He has experience coaching Babe Ruth and High School baseball as well as girls softball. He and his wife, Terri, have three children: Brian 19, Ashley 17 and Leah 8. 

 

                  Stephen Baldwin is the Head Coach for Men’s Baseball.  He attended New Hampshire College in 1988 but transferred and graduated from University of New Haven University in 1991 with a BS in Culinary Arts and Hotel Restaurant Management.  In 1994 he received a BS in Education from Southern Connecticut State University.  In 2000 Baldwin completed his MS in Health Education from SCSU.  He is currently a Physical Education and Health teacher at Wilby High School.

 

                   Deanne Rose is a Graduate of Watertown High School and plans to attend CCSU for a BA in Early Childhood Education. Her favorite activity is Dance and she brings her dance and choreography talents to NVCC as our intramural Cheerleading organizer.

                   Felipe Flores, our head Soccer coach, was born and raised in Mexico City.  His college studies were done at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and his graduate studies were done at the University of Bridgeport.  Felipe has played soccer since he was a child where he played soccer in the streets of Mexico.  He has coached soccer at different levels and his main desire is to let the players have fun and get into good physical condition.
