- Basic microbiology laboratory demeanor and safety.
- Tools of the microbiologist and other equipment.
- Microscope basics.
- Wet mounts and live protozoan behavior patterns.

2 - The metric system ie. weight (g), volume (ml)
- Triple beam balance, graduated cylinder
- Preparing Media
- Autoclave / Sterilization
- "Hanging Drop" slide technique and microbes
from hay infusion and protozoans.

3 - Transfer loop technique, B. subtilis
- Compound light microscope at all powers of
magnification including oil-immersion technique.
- Trypanosoma and African Sleeping Sickness

Bunsen burner and heat fixation.
