Welcome to

Microbiology at NVCC

"Ebola Outbreak in Zaire", "Antibiotic Resistance - The New Plague, "Lyme Disease Soars in Connecticut". You've seen the headlines. Microbiology penetrates this sub visible realm beyond the news bites. In the forefront of the biotechnical revolution, Microbiology is as fascinating as when, three hundred years ago, Anton van Leeuwenhoek uttered the most famous two words in all biology - "little beasties!" Using the latest in biotechnical techniques, we manipulate the genes of E. coli. In circle discussions, we debate the many ethical questions molecular biology raises. In a cooperative setting, study groups probe the latest findings on bacterial diseases. From news clippings to the world wide web, the microbial world comes into focus. Welcome to the adventure of Microbiology at NVCC!
